Most famous for its Film Festival, Cannes is one of the biggest cities along the French Riviera on the south coast of France. It lies just a few miles west of the Cap d’Antibes peninsula with Nice on the Eastern side and Valbonne to the north. There is a huge range of fashion designer boutiques in and around the coastal city of Cannes. The Boulevard de la Croisette is particularly famous for shopping as it has a Chanel boutique on its western side, Louis Vuitton, Gucci France SA and Christian Dior in the center and Cartier on the eastern side; all of which overlook the stunning yacht harbor. It’s hard to imagine that all these huge names get along so peacefully when they’re all trading within such close quarters, but judging by the unbridled beauty of the boulevard they’re simply happy to stay exactly where they are.

Some of the smaller but equally as endearing and gorgeous fashion boutiques in Cannes include ‘Chaussures Jacques Loup’ which translates to ‘Jacques Loup Shoes’ where the big names like Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu-Miu and Dolce & Gabbana are stocked. This old-style shoe boutique is located right on the corner of ‘Rue D’Antibes’ and has actually been there for an incredible 53 years and counting. Just down the road from Jacques Loup is Zara, which is not quite a top designer, and Zara can be found on most UK high streets but this is great just to pop into whilst on a day out shopping. Heading north-easterly from here you will find boutique XY on Chabaud Street. This classic little independent boutique is exactly what shopping on the French Riviera is all about and it stocks maternity clothes, children’s shoes, lingerie and clothing. This is certainly a strange mix of stock but there are some gems to be found in XY and it is a pleasure to look around.

As soon as people hear the name ‘Cannes’ they think ‘films!’ but it’s nice to know that along the Boulevard de la Croisette there is a whole world of top fashion and designer boutiques just waiting to be discovered by unsuspecting visitors. Cannes is a city rich in almost every Hollywood style, be it films, music, gastronomy or fashion and there’s always something to eat, see or buy. It’s this range of rich pursuits that makes Cannes one of the greatest tourist cities in the world.
